about

Charon takes Dante into the first Circle of Hell, Limbo, though he assures him that he cannot traverse the Circles of Hell. Lucifer, Fallen Angel, speaks of his fall from Heaven and his pride to be master of Hell. Vergil accompanies Dante. Speech and SFX from Dante's Inferno animated epic (by M. Disa, 2010), Dante's Inferno game movie (Sony PlayStation) and Paradise Lost reading. All music, ideas, compositions, editing, by Allocer.

lyrics

Dageraden Van Verduisteringen means: Darkening Dawns.

Lyrics based on Dante's Inferno and Milton's Paradise Lost.
Partly from Dante's Inferno animated epic (by: M. Disa, 2010) and Dante's Inferno game movie (Sony PlayStation).

Dante:
A shadow has fallen,
Evil is upon us!

Vergil:
Charon will carry us to the first Circle of Hell, Limbo.
Nine Circles comprise the Inferno,
With Lucifer residing in the lowest;
Horrifying depths...
There are more damned in Hell than liberated in Paradise.
Charon's boat has grown wide and mighty over the millennia,
He has had to compensate for the ever increasing damned.

Charon:
Through me the way to the city of woe,
Through me the way to everlasting pain!
Now shall I carry you to find the cold, the everlasting darkness.
Abandon hope all ye who enter here...

Lucifer:
Is this the Region, this the Soil, the Clime,
Said then the lost Arch-Angel, this the seat
That we must change for Heaven, this mournful gloom
For that celestial light? Be it so, since he
Who now is Sovran can dispose and bid
What shall be right: fardest from him is best
Whom reason hath equald, force hath made supream
Above his equals. Farewel happy Fields
Where Joy for ever dwells: Hail horrours, hail
Infernal world, and thou profoundest Hell
Receive thy new Possessor: One who brings
A mind not to be changed by Place or Time.
The mind is its own place, and in it self
Can make a Heaven of Hell, a Hell of Heaven.
What matter where, if I be still the same,
And what I should be, all but less then he
Whom Thunder hath made greater? Here at least
We shall be free; the Almighty hath not built
Here for his envy, will not drive us hence:
Here we may reign secure, and in my choyce
To reign is worth ambition though in Hell:
Better to reign in Hell, then serve in Heaven.

Vergil:
God allowed free will, even for his angels,
It was Lucifer who devised such torment.

Dante:
I give you my soul!
Charon:
It belongs to us already, mortal...
Dante:
You demon!
Charon:
Your will is nothing, mortal,
You will never traverse the Circles of Hell!
Dante:
Demon!

Lucifer:
I'm the deadly shadows.
None can stand against the coming darkness...

Dante:
How could God allow this? God...
